Herman Sahrmann &
Joe DaSilva
In 2002 ASQ London
recognized Herman's contribution to the section & the organization
with a special award.
Herman Sahrmann is
London's longest standing member. He joined ASQC in 1970. He retired from
3M Canada in 1981 from his position in the Applied Math Dept as a statistician.
Herman's contribution to ASQ includes:

ASQ (C) History
of our parent organization.
1946
- The American Society for Quality was formed (as the American Society
for Quality Control) Feb. 16 from 17 societies with about 1,000 members.
George Edwards, director of quality assurance at Bell Telephone Labs,
elected president. Industrial Quality Control becomes ASQ's publication.
The founding members
included Walter Shewhart, HG Romig & JM Juran.
